Carl - I love you so

Image
Carl Kleiner has been rocking it as usual with some beautiful abstract paper photographs. They never disappoint and always inspire me. It's not what you have, it's what you make of it.

Cutting Boards

Image
My friend Jon told me a while back, that cutting boards are the new stocked bookshelf. They speak to a person's passion about enjoying food and life. I thought the comment was quite sweet as I have an addiction to those beautiful, useful boards. They act as serving trays, plates, prep areas and are just beautiful to look at, to me that is. I came across this shot and it made me think that my dream kitchen isn't so much about the fancy appliances, the size or really the location of it. It's about well used beautiful objects that have been put to work on memorable meals shared with loved ones, and this lighting certainly doesn't hurt!

Aspen

Image
Soon I will be off to Copenhagen to celebrate love and lifelong friendship, but first a few peeks from an amazing weekend in Aspen. Food and Wine is my official favorite magazine and Stephanie Izard can do no wrong in my book.

Back from Paris!

Before I start to tuck in and post some of the amazing food & wine that was had in Paris, I thought I would share my morning garden and dessert. Yogurt, Strawberries, Pistachios, Flax Seed, Fraise Jam and Fresh Mint. Duralex makes my favorite glasses in a small size, so I will pick some up for the office and start to bring my American portions more in line with the European ones I have been enjoying.

Chicago food frenzy

Today I have the pleasure of working on a shoot with Food & Wine magazine. A little peek into the beautiful space that is my home on this very early spring day

Tam-Pa!

Who knew I would fall for Tampa in such a way? I've only been in town a week and have been impressed by so many things I've seen. From little tree lined streets to exceptionally curated restaurants, Tampa has some little known treasures. Celebrating Valentines day in the countryside today at Streamsong — can not say enough about this place. Wishing all my lovelies, near, dear, far and wide — a beautiful day.

Grantchester

Caught this on PBS this eve after a long week of mending from a mysterious allergic reaction. Happily on the road to wellness, I watched a record amount of PBS this weekend. From Chef Magnus in northern Sweden, to vintage hat spotting on Downton to a new player at the table — Grantchester . This show is just the right amount of intrigue and enjoyment, what better way to spend an hour before an early turn in on a Sunday night?
