This is how Copenhagen can get when the fog rolls in. Moody, secretive....so beautiful. Hopefully this weekend will have fun weather to match my plan of kicking about town and drinking hot chocolate.

I have no disillusions that I am a cool girl. I would love to be one, but sadly I fall a wee bit short and am instead at times a clumsy, geeky gal...so I think I should have the right accessories to go with that description. I have never had an iPod, my current cell phone is the third in my lifetime, I like to keep my operation pretty streamlined as far as accoutrement goes. So, I am looking at these iPhones and thinking that they might be the next big purchase for me. This way I could listen to songs as I move around, and stay in better contact with my peeps.....all good things in the chilly winter time.

After speaking with Dawn in Australia today, I missed her wicked bad. So, to you Dawn....Darren and I asked, begged and even tried to bribe you with champagne in the middle of the night, not to leave us poor souls. We tried, however you had a fabulous life to start up in Japan and we understood. Two years later, The Australian is in Canada, the Newfoundlander is in Australia, and the Torontonian is in Copenhagen? We are an effed up bunch. Let's meet soon for mid-night champagne in, let's say Paris? That would be nice.

It seems that after years of staying away from bread and butter (thanks Gaynor, for aiding in this good habit) I can not seem to get enough of the stuff. I thought it was only french goodness that could melt my heart...but no — the Danes and the Swedes seem to do a pretty crack up job. So, I now have made my first '09 resolution...yep 49 days in and I have decided after eating my way through this snowy day, to cut down on bread and delicious Danish butter. France does not count however, I am not an animal. Let's see how long I can last. So, I will keep lusting after these Swedish treats, for the design only.

A neat little band that came to visit me in my living room this evening. While curled in my flat, tapping away on my laptop...this music is adorable. It makes me think of travel, it is calming and has this melodic lightness to it. Sideways is my favorite song, and the site is beyond adorable.

It is snowy and full on winter today. These photographs are making me smile, with thoughts of Scandinavian summer to come. Some Swedish love .

I stumbled across these video campaigns this evening for Charlotte Ronson . The way these little films are put together is fantastic. I would like to be this girl who wanders around a garden with her fella looking adorable.

I am having trouble getting to sleep tonight. I have been lounging and having such a nice evening, I really don't want it to end. I know the morning will come all to soon, so I am going to try and dream of these amazing spaces. This bedroom is a dream. Waking up in that bed on a cold February morning would be divine, especially if I could spend the day cooking and listening to music in this kitchen. yummmm

I was thinking about kites a while back. My mind has now drifted to balloons. They are popping up everywhere. I was putting together a website design the other night and I felt like hot air ballons were a perfect fit. It was late, the project seemed to need some kind of breath of something whimsical...so multicolored balloons were what we went with. These shots are so old world to me. It strikes a nice contrast with the lightness of the balloons filling the sky. My holga is coming back to me from Canada next month, fingers crossed. I would like to do a study of balloons around Copenhagen I think....perhaps the lightness of the subject matter will keep my cheeks flush through the dark winter.

I am not a filmmaker or architect, and I certainly do not live on the west coast...however I think this space is a dream. It has been designed as a think tank for a filmmaker, I think it could work well for an art director and designer too! Great firm out of the US, not usually a fan of the material they seem to specialize in, but am a HUGE fan of them.

Feeling a little lack lustre today, I stumbled across Jen Stark . A soft spoken little lass, who makes these really stellar paper sculptures. She provided a breath of fresh air on this dark Danish day.

I may live in Denmark, but I can't help but love the Swedes. Just look at this beer can! Done by Amore , super cool. Never partaking in the beer guzzling culture, I could be coaxed to try this bevy, just for the slick package. On second thought, it would probably sit in my refrigerator, ever so proudly, with it's clean lines and minimalist design, to shame into oblivion any other 'can's' I dared to put by it's side.

This is my little office this evening. It is not the most comfortable, it is not the largest or the most hi-tech, but it is mine and it reflects how I am feeling right now.
