taking flight

I was thinking about kites a while back. My mind has now drifted to balloons. They are popping up everywhere. I was putting together a website design the other night and I felt like hot air ballons were a perfect fit. It was late, the project seemed to need some kind of breath of something whimsical...so multicolored balloons were what we went with.

These shots are so old world to me. It strikes a nice contrast with the lightness of the balloons filling the sky.

My holga is coming back to me from Canada next month, fingers crossed. I would like to do a study of balloons around Copenhagen I think....perhaps the lightness of the subject matter will keep my cheeks flush through the dark winter.
