Sense of smallness

It is not organized religion or the art per se that causes me feel something when I enter a building, church or gallery. Rather if I were pressed to describe the emotion that washes over me, it would be that of a feeling that I am just one little person in this grand scheme. Nature can also give me this sense of smallness, however there is something about a structure or physical manifestation of a thought or feeling that really gives me awe.

The world is not always a beautiful place, but I will take what I can get.
